Not only that but Ive seen better internet connection in smaller countries overseas. Then again, this studio is from Canada and Im talking primarily about the US. The crazy thing is, as many companies here right now that are trying for this grand push to everything online narrative, they must realize a lot of places, especially the more rural down south places dont have the best. This might in turn affect sales from other countries. If only the US and certain parts of the EU then the rest of the world(asia, russia, etc) is SOL and will have to put up with higher latency which could affect the experience of the game. So the question is: Where are the dedicated servers for this game located in? If this were a turn based game then it wouldn't matter so much but it's an action rpg so it matters a lot. Even more frustrating when playing ironman mode. That's why its a common thing to rubber band lag to death while playing games like diablo. Not even blizzard has servers in every part of the world. It's not something that we can "buy better internet" our way out of unless we are talking about building our own personal network exchanges and dedicated underground sea cable from one continent to another which would cost billions.īeing a small outfit, I doubt the devs have the resource to put dedicated servers in every part of the world. The best broadband in Russia is still going to get 6xxms and above connecting to a us server and vice versa. Internet connection is now ubiquitous but the technology behind it hasn't reached the point where it can totally overcome issues associated with physical distance. It isn't 1998, there's a WiFi signal nearly everywhere if there's some odd circumstance where you absolutely need to play the game.
